My husband and I recently attended Rachael’s French baking course (I was very spoilt with it as a Christmas present) and we had the most amazing day and learned to make some seriously scrumptious breads! Rachael’s teaching style is very relaxed and friendly, and she explains things in a very easy to understand way. The school has also been beautifully designed making it a lovely space to learn. We also had the benefit of meeting some incredible people on the course as well! A lovely break for a day – would wholeheartedly recommend!! Thank you Rachael 😊

Recently attended the Italian Breads course with my husband. Rachel was so welcoming and knowledgeable. You will have a really fantastic day whether you were a complete beginner or someone wanting improve. Rachel had lots of tips and tasty examples of breads to try. It was lots of fun too, and a chance to get to know others attending the day over a delicious lunch. You will leave full of enthusiasm. Take a big bag to bring all your great bakes home. We stayed at Chapel Farmhouse nestled at the foot of the Sugar Loaf (approriately named!) which was very, very nice with great hosts. We can also recommend the the Italian restaurant, Casa Bianca where we ate.

A fabulous day with Rachael, The Abergavenny Baker. A treat for my son, we attending the adult and teen class which was amazing! The relaxed homely atmosphere and teaching made for an enjoyable day. All our bakes were delicious, Fougasse, bread rolls, brioche style bread, ham and cheese slices, and of course our delicious pizza which we ate for lunch.

We learnt so many things today in a small class which was fun. We are looking forward to trying the recipes at home. I have always found bread tricky but Rachael has demystified this for us and provided us with some really useful tips and tricks, thank you. We look forward to visiting you again soon😊

My Granddaughter and I have just done the Adult and Teen course which we both thoroughly enjoyed and found very informative and helpful. It was my second Abergavenny Baker course, having done the British Bread Course previously. Rachael really is a very knowledgeable teacher and shares her knowledge in a very user friendly way. I have no hesitation in recommending Abergavenny Baker.

As my wife and I had already enjoyed the Italian bread course, it was time to delve into the world of sourdough bread. The class was very informative, conducted at a relaxed pace with five classmates with varying experiences. Rachel is a great teacher, and the day is very relaxed and includes a delicious lunch. You also take home all your baking. Next up, French bread?

Really enjoyed the French baking course last week. Rachael puts everyone at ease and explains everything so well. The proof of the pudding is always when you bake the same items yourself without support and I was delighted with the Second breakfast Granary loaf and baguettes which came out of the oven this morning. I would recommend the course to novices and those who have done a bit of baking as Rachael has many tips which make all the difference. I had been looking at bread-baking books previously, but having done the course, I feel much more informed (as regards the science of baking) and confident to tackle new recipes on my own.
